2nd Annual 811 Day Block Party

Every six minutes an underground utility line is damaged because someone failed to call 811 before digging.  August 11 (811 Day) serves as a natural reminder for people to call 811 prior to any digging project to have underground utility lines marked.

Phillips 66 Pipeline LLC joins pipeline operators and industry vendors to promote 811 Day and pipeline safety messaging through a variety of activities, including an all-employee giveaway, presentations given to area citizen's councils and sponsoring a Houston-area 811 Day Block Party.

The 2nd Annual 811 Day Block Party is a free event that will take place simultaneously in multiple locations throughout the Greater Houston area.  It is open to the public with interactive and educational activities, free prizes and other giveaways as well as food and refreshments.  Join us Thursday, August 11th from 11:00 a.m. to 1 :00 p.m. at any of the following locations:

  • Outside plaza located at 1100 Louisiana Street, Houston, TX and 1111 Louisiana Street, Houston, TX
  • 401 Miller Cut Off Road, La Porte, TX

Striking a single line can cause injury, costly repairs, fines and inconvenient outages.  Every digging project, no matter how large or small, warrants a call to 811.  On August 11th, and every day throughout the year, the public is reminded to always call 811 before digging to eliminate the risk of striking an underground utility line.
